Summary
Xiaomi YI is quite a good camera, but it does not come with any accessories inside. Buying accessories will certainly make things easier, but it will also increase the total cost of the action camera. If you are on a budget and have enough time, some of the accessories can be done as a DIY weekend project, which will save you few bucks here and there.
Even though most of the additional equipment for Xiaomi YI is quite cheap, once you start buying it will add up, so try to buy only the items you really need. There is no need to go crazy and buy every single item that says “for xiaomi yi”.
Instead, with the money you saved with DIY and go buy a bus ticket and go somewhere where you can create memorable videos. Remember, its not all about the gear.
However for important gear, such as waterproof case, remote controller or a battery, its better to spend few extra bucks and get original items rather then little cheaper but far more crappier gear from third party sellers and copycats.

Is the adapter compatible with gopro mounts?
Camera has 1/4″ screw hole, so its compatible with whatever can fit that. For GoPro mounts, you need an adapter.

I do have a problem. I’m using e original waterproof case. I recorded some videos & snap photos while in a swimming pool, only about 1.5m deep. Now the problem is when I tried to view it on my tablet via otg, all videos & photos taken during the swim are not there! Its strange cos all e videos taken before & after e swim are there, none lost. Even e file numbering sequence proves so.
Hope I didnt missing out anything. Is there anyone out there facing this problem? Googled hard for info but none found. Would gladly appreciate any help.
Don’t view the files in a tablet or phone. Your phone and tablet do have separate Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) which may conflict to naming folders since your Yi Cam also have separate DCIM. Recommend to view the files in a computer.
Can the remote control multiple cameras? Like the remote off the gopro? Or do you know if there is an alternative.
