H96 PRO plus review

The Alfawise H96 PRO plus comes with Android 7.1 as operative system and the PRO plus version has a great hardware furniture, that is 3GB RAM , 2GB CPU and 32GB of internal storage. With this setup it manages to play 4K videos at 60fps without problems. IT could be enough to play 4K? Let’s find out.

I want to warn you that the remote controller is one of the most common controllers on the market, and for this reason there is a possibility to have other controllers compatible with its frequencies. By the way, the range is good. I didn’t have any problems to change film from 6 meter distance.

Design

The design and the build quality are really great. I noticed that it is perfectly cooled and doesn’t warm up during 4K video reproduction, not even when you play games. It has only one LED on the front that shows if it’s turned on or not.

Inside the tv box there are other two types of connections. The Bluetooth 4.1 with a great range, with this Bluetooth you can connect an external keyboard to improve the mobility around the menus.  The WiFi, with its 5G frequency can also handle the high speed of an optic fiber.

As I said at the beginning of the review, the tv box has Android 7.1 as its OS. It means you will find every settings like on your android phone.

It comes with Google Play, Youtube, Netflix, and Kody already pre-installed.

Behaving like your phone, the app store is the same too – and then you have the entire range of apps available.

H96 pro plus: Performance

Honestly, I am amazed by the performance of  this little tv box. I can’t hide my initial skepticism about it, but I could’ve not been more wrong.

I tried a benchmark and it went great!

But the most important thing – how about the movies?

I know, through this video you can’t understand the quality, but I can tell you the quality and mostly the fluidity is just perfect. It has no lags nor delays; neither with the audio. It’s simply perfect!

I found just a little problem with a particular resolution. I have an old 45″ with a resolution of 1080I (and not 1080P) and this format creates a few problems because all the edges of the screen are cropped. This means all the margins of the screen are simply out of it which sometimes makes it impossible to navigate. A part this particularity, it perfect in every other aspect.

I think H96 pro plus is a great tv box. With its impressive hardware, it manages almost everything without any problem, it is fluid, fast, and it never slows down in any condition. It is a pity there is no USB 3.0 and I advise you to get a keyboard and a mouse – at least for the first steps – but then, you can also navigate only with the controller.
