Alfawise G70 Review – Best cheap dashcam?

Best value Dashcam: Alfawise G70

Thanks to we have the opportunity to test another dashcam after few times. Our first dashcam was the SJdash from SJCAM, today we are writing about the Alfawise G70, one of the cheapest dashcam on the market. It will worth the price?

Accessories for the Dashcam

As all the dashcam, they doesn’t need a lot of accessories, but just few and functional things. With the Alfawise G70 there are two type of mounts, the sucker mount ad the M3 mount

Both of them are perfectly stable, I tried mostly the sucker one and it stayed still on my windshield for days with temperatures between under 0°C and 15°C, ice, sun and rain and it never detached. It is a really little strong mechanism that can make it’s own job perfectly.

Over the mounts, into the box there is the car charger with a long +3m USB cable with an USB port available on the top

Dashcam’s Design and Build quality

The design is very simple but very effective.

On the top there is the power button, on the right side there is the USB port, the right mic and the HDI port

On the left we find the AV plug , left mic and the SD card slot

On the back, there is the huge 2,5 inch screen with the main four buttons: Menu, Up, Down and OK.

The buttons are mechanic and the screen is very big with a perfect light. I found no problems to check it with the direct sun.

Menu overview

The menu is very simple, this camera has the main settings but I’s not a big problem because one you the  first time the camera, you will never touch it anymore!

The settings are:

Video quality

The quality of the video is quite good. The max resolution is 1080P and this camera share its sensor with other cameras but luckily the software is well made.

I expected something more during light scene, but the video it’s not bad at all

This G70 show its best during the night, I’m honestly amazed how good this camera looks in a complete absence of light

Thanks to the 1.5 of aperture it is able to capture an incredibly quality of light to ensure good quality shots during your light travelings

These videos, mostly during the day, are not the most detailed, I think because the file compression is too high, but honestly I don’t want complain about this too much because we are talking about a 30$ product, and I bet you to find something better at this price!

App

The app is good, very stable and easy to use but, as the menu, it’s quite useless because once you choose your best settings, you will never touch them anymore!

Battery

This camera has no battery but capacitors. The allows to use it in the most safe way also with the direct sun because there are no batteries that can explode. But it mean you can use it only with a direct font of power, but as a dashcam it could not be a problem.

Summary of the Dashcam

I think it is a great value dashcam. It is not the best camera you can find in general, but I thing it is the best you can find at this price! I recommend it for everyone who doesn’t want to spend too much on a dashcam or for anyone who want try for the first time a dashcam.
